informXL Remote Access Security Requirement

Updated: March 21st2024

At informXL, safeguarding sensitive data by prioritizing the security of our customers’ server systems is paramount. To achieve this goal, customers who grant informXL direct remote access to their servers or computer environments must adhere to one or both of the following access requirements:

  • IP Restricted Access: This involves configuring access permissions based on a specific IP address provided to the customer by an informXL representative. Server access for the informXL account should only be granted for connections originating from this designated IP address.
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Alternatively, customers may choose to implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) for their informXL login. MFA enhances security by requiring users to provide multiple forms of verification, such as a password along with a unique code sent to their mobile device or email, before gaining access to the server environment.

Both informXL and the customer share the responsibility of ensuring compliance with these access requirements. Customers who are unable or unwilling to implement these measures are requested to deactivate any informXL-provided remote access accounts.

As an alternative to IP or MFA restrictions for access control, customers can opt for installation, support, or maintenance access via a customer-managed remote access shadow session, or via screen-sharing tool like WebEx, Zoom, Teams, or similar platforms. However, it’s important to note that these systems may impose time-related costs due to their inherent access limitations.
